my little hedgehog

I have an online bestie. Her name is Cassie. She is lovely and funny and smart and creative. She and I have been friends for almost two years - you can read the story of how we met here. She's journeyed with me through my miscarriage, our move, new job, a conference, and now Sam. Since we didn't know if baby_r was a boy or a girl, she waited to make gifts until after he came. She asked me what my favorite animal was, and I told her hedgehogs (it's true. I have a whole collection of kids books about hedgehogs.) Later that day, I started to see tweets from her that were hashtagged #crochetfail and #secretproject. Not good... but she prevailed (of course).
